BY THE ECONOMIC REASONS

FORESTRY INVESTOR Permanent resident permit as a forestry investor can be obtained, if you invest personally or through the corporation in reforestation or forest plantation or other activities authorized by the National Environmental Authority, in an area not less than five (5 ) hectares and whose minimum investment is at least eighty thousand dollars (B / 80,000.00). If you bring any dependents you should increase your investment by two thousand dollars (B / 2,000.00) for each dependent, which can be justified with a local bank reference. MACRO INVESTOR This permit can be obtained by foreigners wishing to invest in a macro-company with a minimum share capital of one hundred sixty thousand dollars (B / 160,000.00) per applicant, being the shareholders and officers of the same company; the omission of this requirement will result in the cancellation of the application and the obligation to leave the country. If you bring any dependents you should increase your investment by two thousand dollars (B / 2,000.00) for each dependent, which can be justified with a local bank reference. BY THE SPECIAL POLITICS

RETIREE You can apply for temporary resident permit as a retired person earning a monthly income of at least eight hundred fifty dollars (B / 850.00), which comes exclusively from the interests paid on a fixed deposit (CD) in the National Bank of Panama or Caja de Ahorros, which are free from any liabilities or warranties of any kind, for a minimum period of five (5) years. RETIRED PENSIONER You can apply for this permit if you are receiving retirement or pension from the foreign government, international organization or private company, to settle in Panama and have sufficient funds to cover all your living expenses and your dependents at home. Income or monthly pension should not be less than one thousand dollars (B / 1,000.00) and must be granted for life. PERMANENT STAFF HIRED BY THE PANAMA CANAL AUTHORITY INVESTOR IN SPECIAL ECONOMIC AREA “PANAMA-PACIFIC” is able to request this permit by making an investment not less than two hundred fifty thousand dollars (B / 250,000.00) in Venture Company or Developing and Operation Company in the “Panama-Pacific Area”. WORK PERMIT IN “PANAMA-PACIFIC AREA” WITHIN THE TEN PERCENT (10%) OF THE REGULAR EMPLOYEES OF THE COMPANY, THE DEVELOPER OR OPERATOR INVESTOR IN EXPORT PROCESSING ZONES The foreigner may request this permit if he has invested a sum of not less than two hundred fifty thousand dollars (B / 250,000.00) from abroad, in an authorized promoter or operator of an Export Processing Zone or in established company or companies within these areas, according to Law 25 of 1992. INVESTOR IN CALL CENTER FOR COMMERCIAL USE FOR EXPORT A foreigner can obtain this permit if he invested in the company which is engaged in providing call center services for commercial use for export. INVESTOR IN THE FILM INDUSTRY AND AUDIOVISUAL A foreigner may request this permit if invest more than one hundred fifty thousand dollars (B / 150,000.00) in the film industry. [+]
